A beautiful lakeside retreat

Sit back and enjoy the best of the British countryside. Windmill Cabin is new to Green Lane Farm for summer 2022 and is the biggest of our properties available. Set lakeside with a view of our wonderful traditional windmill, this property is ideal for families looking to escape to the country. We are dog (and cat!) friendly to so if you have a furry friend you want to bring along, they are very welcome to join you.

This rustic retreat which is made largely with reclaimed materials, offers sleeping accommodation for five and is kitted out with antique furniture to give it traditional countryside feel.

RELAX

Relax both outside and in. A large, decked area with views out over the lake is a great place to relax and unwind. Hang out on the decking on the comfy sofa and chairs before making use of the outside kitchen, which features a BBQ making it a great place to kick back and relax with family and friends. Guests young and old will love the freestanding copper bathtub which sits outside on the decking. Run the water, add some bubbles and enjoy a bath time with a view. The cabin also has its own garden as well as its own newly planted woodland.

Inside, the cabin features high vaulted ceilings throughout.  The living room is a great indoor space to enjoy and features a comfortable sofa and wood burning stove. Spend your evenings looking out at the great views over the water and see what wildlife you can spot. If you would prefer to catch up on a film, there is a flat screen TV with Netflix available.

Sleep

Windmill Cabin is the perfect property for a family break and features two bedrooms sleeping up to four adults, with an additional double bunk bed suitable for two children. With direct access to the decking and beautiful views over the water, bedroom one has a king size bed and can sleep two. Bedroom two has a double bunk bed. We booked the wagon and connecting shepherds hut for my birthday and I cannot rate this place highly enough. Tracey and Chris were so helpful when booking and even added plant based produce to the beautiful hamper that awaits you. It is stunning. When we arrived the farm was covered in snow and it looked like a winter wonderland. We asked if we could see their highland cows and donkeys and Tracey pointed us in the right direction and said just go in, which we did every day. They are stunning and so docile and friendly. Each property has a stunning lake with a boat , the copper bath on the decking was lovely, robes are provided, beautiful smelling toiletries, lots of fluffy towels. The wagon and hut have a garden with a fire pit and there are just acres of fields to walk in and just perfect if you have a dog. The sunrise was stunning on Sunday morning and I even saw a deer . I will definitely return in another season to take full advantage of that lake and boat. It is a jewel in the surrey hills and your passion reflects the care and detail in the properties.

We stayed at the Best Log Cabin recently after getting married just down the road at Gildings Barns. It was a perfect place to spend our first few days as husband and wife. A tranquil, peaceful and very beautiful location but also a gorgeous and well built log cabin. Chris was really helpful throughout our booking and postponement of stay due to Covid19 pushing back our wedding by a year. The wine and coffee hamper plus the bacon, eggs and sausages were a lovely treat! Thank you Chris, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave and we really enjoyed the sunflower field too. Highly recommend The Best Log Cabin to anyone who would like a little relaxation in an idyllic location.

We booked Apple tree cottage which has the most beautiful view, lovely accommodation and a fantastic hamper full of wonderful food. We had a fabulous break where we looked at the view from the veranda, walked, slept and ate. The cottage is the best place to relax. Thank you Chris, your farm is beautiful.

We have had a fantastic few days away staying in apple tree cottage on our mini honey moon. The hot tub and log fire were the highlights for us. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The welcome hamper is lovely and the sausages were fantastic! Waking up to the friendly highland cows and donkeys in your garden is something special. They enjoyed a few carrots! Playing scrabble and dominos by the fire was a new experience for us and we loved it. So relaxing and peaceful. Love all of the touches. The decor is just perfect. I wish we could stay longer. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Chris.

We have just had the most amazing stay in the Kingfisher Wagons. The place was immaculate with lots of lovely lovely touches. The fresh cut flowers, candles by the bath, and lovely tubbed shrubs dotted around. The scenery was amazing we were in awe. The decking area was perfect, my husband fishing and enough space for me to do some outside yoga. It was safe and secure for our dog Cody, which was well designed. It was a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of daily life and we were able to rest, relax and renew. Thank you so much for all the thought you have put in to setting up the place. 🙏🏻
