Back in August we opened our farm to visitors from far and wide, who wanted to see our sunflower field. It was the first year we had planted sunflowers on our Surrey farm. It was a plan hatched with our nephew, Ed, earlier this year, who thought a field of sunflowers would look spectacular and really bring joy to the farm. Shortly after we decided to plant the sunflowers, Ed lost his battle to an aggressive form of cancer.

As a family, we have all been devastated by his loss but wanted to do something to give back to Marie Curie Cancer Care who had provided Ed with care and support in his final days. We decided it would be a fitting tribute to Ed to open the sunflower field to everyone, spreading the the joy that the sunflowers had brought to the farm. So many people visited us, from friends and family to complete strangers who had not known Ed but wanted to share in his sunflowers and help us raise money.

We are delighted to report that by opening the sunflower field, we raised a staggering £4,500 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We want to thank every single person who visited us and donated money. It was thanks to your support that this was possible. We would also like to thank all of our visitors for the respect you showed to our farm, using the bins provided and taking your litter home. We were delighted to share our little bit of countryside with you and hope to do the same again in the future.
